My friend has an apple tree that hasn't been sprayed in 3 years. Is it safe to use the wood for chin treats? If not, how long would I need to wait. Thanks
Yes, I'll get a few bunches of wood from him each year (been using him for a few years now) and have never had an issue. I got hay once, where it seemed nice and fresh to me (no moldy smell or dust) the chins weren't fans of it. Not sure if that's helpful though as some batches from Kleenmama...
Came across this and thought it was to cute not to share. :D

If you want your children to do better in school -- get them a chinchilla. A new study found a link between a better...
Jasper just stole a cucumber from my salad, she got a few nibbles before I wrangled it away from her. She seems to be ok, just pouty because I took her "treat"... Does anyone know if it's ok for a chin to have cucumbers? I've never given them fresh veggies and I don't recall if it's because they...
I took my chins from MI to TX for my family reunion last year. My biggest issue ended up being their temp. Even with the AC going I had to keep rotating the cages to keep them out of direct sun. But they faired pretty well and couldn't wait to get back to their playroom.
I've always had pretty good success with kool-aid and loofahs. With wood I've found it harder to get a deep stain. A friend suggested adding a tiny bit of vinegar to it, but I've never tried that.
The tea sounds interesting, do the chins seem partial to mint?
A warning... I tried to comb my chin and the 1st couple of times she pee'd on me. The last time she actually took my finger in her two little paws and chomped my finger. Needless to say, I never tired it again after that. On the plus side, she's also never felt the need to draw blood again to...
I lost my chin Ruby two years ago due to a respiratory issue, a few weeks after her cage mate Diamond started dropping a lot of weight, I thought it was just because she was sad and missed Rudy. However, a trip to the vet showed her to be malo and she died this past January a few days to the...
Hmm... I think I'll give the APD a try too... I've been using another supplier for the last 6 years or so, but this current batch and the batch before have been seriously lacking. Not sure if it's due to the weather, but the chins will barely touch it and they love 3rd cut.
I'm convinced that my chinny Ruby is just crazy. She will roll around on the floor of the cage, do these sort of half flips and hops. Then one of hops turns into a jump and she starts running up and down the levels of the cage until she's exhausted and just sort of falls out. She doesn't appear...
I have a chin spin, flying saucer and Leo wheel. Without question the chin spin is the loudest, then I'd say the flying saucer one is next if the bearing isn't oiled.
LOL.... then you'd have a Degu! Sorry, I just always think of them as furball less chins. But, as already stated it'd be sad to see shaved chin, that's their best physical attribute. Although, breeding a less dense strain could be interesting.
