    Couple to a trio?

Long story short, I had two boys in a ferret nation two tiered cage, but walked into a pet store one day and saw a really sad looking chin. He was being cared for very well at all, so I decided to buy him and split my cage into two incase he never got along with the boys. Turned out, they never...

Am I a bad chin mommy?

I'm starting to feel really guilty for my babies, But I try my best.. They get the best food I can afford (Oxbow), a nice FN cage, and I buy them treats and toys. And I recently bought them some pretty new fleece liners. But playtime wise, I'm feeling awful. I work 3/4 nights a week, so on an...

    Squeeling Chinchilla.

My latest addition, Jasper (who lives on his own because he doesnt get along with my other two boys) is doing a really loud Squeeling noise. It was so loud that it woke me up this morning. First of all I thought that he was in pain, so I rushed out of bed and switched the light on, but he was...

    my newest little addition!

He's the little guy I fell in love with in the petshop, and just couldn't imagine leaving him there... god knows who could have taken him! :( He's been here a few weeks now, and seems to be settling in really well! Definitely got his love for food back, and is really coming around to play time...

    petstore chin

so I was in my local petstore earlier buying dog biscuits, and I always make a habit of checking out if there are any chinchillas for sale in the little cage they have... just to make sure the conditions are acceptable (I've made several complaints in the past)... And there he was, a gorgeous...

    How can I leave them?

So next year I'll be starting university (college), and I'm having a real dilemma on whether or not I should live on campus. If I move there, I'll be leaving my chins with my mum... She's looked after them before when I went on holiday, but I'm not sure whether I'll be okay just seeing them on...

    Lazy chin at playtime

Ive had this problem with mr pickle ever since I got him, He's a really 'late' chinchilla, meaning he gets really active closer to 1am rather than sooner. So I've always found it hard to have playtime with him, because if I let him and pip out at 10pm, after 10 minutes mr pickles jumps back...

    food dish problems.

For the past week or so I've been having to change my chins food everyday, so I've had to throw a lot away too. I've kept seeing the food go into clumps because it's wet, first of all I thought one of the chins were peeing in it, because Pip did that when I first brought him home and changed...

shorter playtimes than ever, a little worried..

Some of you may have read that about 3 days ago my babies finally started sharing their FN with no issues, but since then.. playtimes have just got shorter and shorter. First of all I thought it was just that they were tired after the first day of being together, with all the excitement.. but...

    question..

has your chins fur ever looked a little wet or like it had been wet from the other chin grooming them? trying to figure it out!
  15. nonniemorris

    I did it!

My babies spent their first ever night together last night sharing the FN! This picture is 'the morning after' :) We had no arguments or bickering at all, we did it!

    kacking.

do your chinchillas ever kack at eachother sometimes, just because maybe they don't want to be groomed or something? i'm just hoping it isn't a sign of something bad, because thats the only time i see them kacking lol. thanks :)

    FN142 fleece sets.

So, for the last couple of months I've been searching all over the place for someone to make me fleece sets for my FN142. But they're hard to find in the UK, and the one site I did find was so so expensive. Does anyone here make them? Or is able to give me a quote inc shipping to the UK? I...

    grooming?

So my boys are still separate but having playtime together, but earlier I saw them do something I'm not quite sure about... First of all Pip was lent on Mr P and had his face in his fur, my first instinct was fur pulling, but just as I went to separate them I saw them swap places and Mr P...

    john hopewell wheel

John Hopewell is known to make really good products, but this ad - http://www.johnhopewell.co.uk/default.asp?template=productdetail.page.xml&productId=53 is of a good looking wheel, but isn't it too small? much to small :/ shame. They're hard to get over here too!

not sure what to do next..

So my boys have been having playtime together for a few weeks, and after having cages side by side, I decided I'd try a different method since it didn't seem to be having any effect. They're now sharing a FN142 cage, one on the top and one on the bottom. I've moved the top tray around so now...
