As some of you know, my oldest chin Jed is going in for his 2nd Op on Monday as he is still Drooling. The first time I took him to the vet I was told he had an overgrown tooth at the side which had caused an absess. I am wondering if any of you can help me as I've read once a chin has teeth...
When Jed had his first Op we was given an anti biotic which we had to give him through a plastic syringe and he completed the full course so I assumed the infection would have cleared.
Hi all,
I thought I'd let you all know something most of you possibly know already, if you give your Chinchilla alot of treats it builds enamel on their teeth which makes it harder to grind down and can cause overgrown teeth aswell as many other long term issues.
So my oldest fella Jed had an Operation for overgrown teeth last month which had caused an absess, the vet stated this WAS NOT Malo so I assumed the drooling would go away. Jed is drooling again and I've got him booked in to see the vet next week to have the same Op again. If this isn't Malo...
Hi all. I was just wondering if this is normal. I got my first Chinchilla (Jed) a little under a year ago and sometimes when I let both Jed & BoB out in the morning for a bath etc Jed likes to jump into bed (only when I'm in) and runs in between my legs, he can even fall asleep like this which I...
Firstly you should only permanently separate Chinchillas if blood has been drawn. As long as that's not the case then you can still bond them together. I had my first Chinny (Jed) for just under a year before we got BoB, and he was underweight due to his previous owner not knowing how to look...
I have a 8 month old Chinchilla called BoB and it looks as though he has urinated on himself. I've checked his bits and there isn't a hair ring. Does anyone know how I can clean this up properly without rotting his fur? Thankyou in advance.
The only time you should worry about a change in the size of their poo is if you haven't changed their diet. If the treats were high in fat content then this would explain why the poo is smaller in size. Chinchillas do however actually produce two types of dropping the same as rabbits do, one is...
What people don't seem to understand with Chinchillas is they are prey animals which means they don't show pain as they're instinct is in the wild this is seen as weakness so don't assume that because your little chinny doesn't look as though he's in pain that he's okay. Book a visit with your...
