When Jed had his first Op we was given an anti biotic which we had to give him through a plastic syringe and he completed the full course so I assumed the infection would have cleared.

This is what a vet told me? Ignore this info then. If I ever need to know anything I'll ask on here :-)

Hi all, I thought I'd let you all know something most of you possibly know already, if you give your Chinchilla alot of treats it builds enamel on their teeth which makes it harder to grind down and can cause overgrown teeth aswell as many other long term issues.

Have you tried using hay cookies? I've had the same problem.

Jed has just been taken in for his treatment, his back teeth has overgrown, hopefully he will be okay. If anyone on here's Chinchilla starts to drool it is always teeth issues 99% of the time.

Lying down could mean boredom. Try getting new toys to chew and play with, if nothing changes then take her to the vet to see someone who has experience with Chinchillas.

I'd make an appointment with a vet who specialises in exotic animals just to be safe.

One thing you need to know is that it isn't an eye infection. If it was your chinny would go downhill rapidly fast. More than likely it's an eye irritation. Most vets get both the above confused. I've even known chinnys get irritations from change of season (summer etc). Your best bet is to get...
