Sandi she actually doesn't chew any plastic surprisingly. I'm still on the lookout for wooden platforms though . Any company that sells them?

My chin is in my bedroom and even though I've had it since Monday my room has been kept pretty cold. I'll probably keep it around the same and just grab a blanket for myself :)

I'm on the lookout for wood and metal shelves as we speak. I'm being as patient as possible I'm starting to hand feed her a little and she seems to be getting a little more bonded with me.

Now when you say "organic" , does that mean it will say organic on the box?

Question about shredded wheat for treats. I'm using post brand shredded wheat cereal as a treat. I give my chin a raisin sized portion of the whole wheat itself. How often am I allowed to feed her these portions? I figure one size each time but how many days of the week can I do so?

Are photos with flash okay? I'm really afraid to blind my chin.

I've used Post brand shredded wheat(without frost or honey) and my chin really enjoys them.

Biehlerta i wish the best of luck on you and your daughters new chin. I hope it all works out for you. I've been studying for hours on chinchillas and there is so much to learn. My chin has become like a daughter to me I truly adore her :D

I don't know if chinchillas are like humans but salt usually dehydrates people. I never heard of a salt lick before. Maybe stay away from it or do more research.

I find drum wheels to be okay only if they don't have the huge spoke looking thing sticking from the middle . I just feared while they were running it could damage their vertebrate.

This is actually really funny =D I was just telling my girlfriend the other day my chin is like my little Pokémon . My other friend she needs a Pokéball lol.

My chin doesn't hop into my hand yet but she is slowly getting comfortable with me. I agree with everyone else, just let them come to you. Once in awhile I pick up hay and let her eat out of my hand. Try no fast movements and just be gentle and sincere.
