    My Dog & My Chin

I actually asked my aunt (who is an exotics vet technician) what 'bacteria' would be harmful to him that Norman could be carrying (both Pirate and Oscar) and she said there are very few things, and if any, would need to be contaminated in large amounts; from an actual sickness (of which my dog...

    DIY Beanbag chair (no-sew, easy)

As ticklechin said, the thing about the birds you're relating to and them blowing up is a myth. The only time it would actually be very harmful to a Chin is if they ate a large amount or they ate it reguarly; and I was relating this to as if they made a small hole and got a few pieces, not if...

How did your furbabies get their names?

My boy's name is Pirate. He's basically all white (a bit of greying of his face and base of his tail, with blackish ears) with only one actual marking: a black spot shaped like an eyepatch above his eye. I go with my gut when naming animals, and automatically Pirate popped into my head :)

    My Dog & My Chin

Just a cute short video of my boy Norman and my other boy Pirate getting along swimmingly. Click here Norman was sitting on his tail: but whenever small animals get close to him he wags his tail extremely fast. He's absolutely fascinated with Pirate and really enjoys pushing his nose into his...

    DIY Beanbag chair (no-sew, easy)

Note - I'm sorry if I was supposed to post this directly in the DIY section, but I thought it'd be more sensible to post the DIY here and link it to the post later :) I made my Pirate a beanbag chair and he adores it. I make the majority of my things no-sew mainly because I'm lazy and I don't...

Getting my first chinchilla soon (:

I'm a new Chin mom but I can answer many of your questions (although if anybody who is a Chin veteran sees me answer something incorrectly please don't hesitate to correct me) :) Welcome to the beautiful world of Chins! (although I myself am only one day in) :hug2: Chinchillas can do just fine...

    Should you neuter/spay a Chinchilla?

As a new Chin mom this is a question I have. If there's no medical or sensible reason to spay or neuter an animal: I won't. My rabbit is neutered because I know of many issues that can arise without neutering and also extreme behavioral issues he was having which were fixed by neutering. My...

    Chin mom saying hello

:) Hi all! My name's Sam, I live in NV (US), and I became a Chinchilla mom today. This is my first Chinchilla but I do know what I am doing and I'm going to try really hard to be the best Chin mom I can be. I have a 4 year old (neutered) lop rabbit mix named Cosmo, an 8 year old white...
