    Preparing leaves for consumption

a lot of people feed apple leaves. And since no one sells them in bulk I would like to make some. I have a mix from Whimsy coming that has crab apple leaves in it and I have heard nothing but wonderful things about them.

    Preparing leaves for consumption

I have multiple chin safe types of trees that have never been sprayed. I would love to harvest the leaves before the weather causes me to lose them all. I have a large dehydrator but am unsure of how I should treat them prior to dehydrating them. Does anyone have any idea?

    Bar spacing for adult chin

Personally I don't think any dog crate can be converted into a large enough cage for a chinchilla to live in. They need much more vertical space than a dog crate can offer. I would be looking into ferret cages if I were in your position.

    Opinions? Rabbit food for chins

You're welcome it is no problem. When I switched from exotics medicine to ER, I went back for dentals and one of the vets I worked with in Exotics couldn't believe I would switch mine off oxbow to Purina Pro Show until I talked to her. She knew I wouldn't do something without research and then...

Probi is the name brand i use its a liquid probiotic. They get 0.1 cc orally daily for the ones on heart meds. The others get it once a week or so to keep them used to the syringe. Opinions? Rabbit food for chins

Veterinarians don't look into the actual nutritional content of every diet out there, and unless handed the info will automatically say to stick with the diet formulated for chinchillas. No disservice to your pet and really no fault of the veterinarian for not knowing that that particular rabbit...

    Chinchilla food for Passover

I worked in an exotics clinic with a very large jewish population. A lot of our clients either had their pet sitters handle feedings, or even had their pets boarded so that they didn't have the food in the household during that time but their pets maintained the diet they were currently on. It...

    Probiotics?

Mine get probi on a regular basis. For my chins on heart medications the taste gets them excited for meds. And for my others it keeps them used to the syringe so when they are sick they take medication without the stress of forcing them to take it :D.

What type of hay does your chinchilla like most?

Timothy as staple just switched from Oxbow to the hay from the wonderful AG store in town. I love knowing I am supporting local farmers and it smells amazing. They also get botanical, oat, alfalfa, meadow, and orchard grass. A different type every night with their timothy. Some are oxbow brand...
