    Out of sticks.

I'm not an expert but mine don't get sticks every day and are fine with their other toys. Hopefully someone else can chime in!

    Benefit of Second Chinchilla?

We tried introducing our boys through the cage within a cage method. Clark got a toe nipped and it was bleeding a little so we separated them and haven't tried again since. I'm not sure if it was out of aggression or because Koopa was in a bite everything stage but it was still disappointing...

    Do your chins do this?

Clark does this too! They're so silly! It's hard to see there but his little chin is in the tube.

    Soft poop questions

Hi Dawn, thank you for the suggestion. I picked some up on Monday, gave him a .3mL dose Monday night, Tuesday Morning, Tuesday night, this morning, and now tonight. His poop is still squishy and kind of crumbly so I'm going to bring him to the vet and see what they say. He's still active, has...

    Soft poop questions

We noticed that Koopa's poop was a little shiny and softer than usual a couple days ago. I did more research yesterday and last night we pulled his pellets, gave him half a shredded wheat and unlimited hay. All treats (crushed rosehips and rose petals) have been stopped. Background...

warning calls when asleep. SO CUTE!

Mine do this sometimes in their sleep too, it always scares the bajeezus out of me since I'm usually sitting in silence when they do it.

Silly question, but what is the strangest place you have found chin poop?

In a basket full of medicine I kept on a bookshelf in my room - the chins are in a different room and rarely come in the bedroom.

Show off your "chin as a hat" pictures!

I haven't been on to post in a while but thought this picture was pretty cute. Here's one of me with Koopa during play time the other night. He loves to climb all over my head right after his dust baths! I'd love to see other chin hats!

Do your chins have super sharp nails too?

Yep! Koopa was very squirmy and cut up my arm and hand with his razor claws. I have a scar across the back of my hand from him.

Finally was allowed to give scritches!

Too funny! We've had him a little over 4 months now. He would climb all over us, sniff our fingers, give kisses etc. but never the scritches. I got another one in this morning when I was cleaning his cage! Koopa will sometimes let us scratch his belly, but most of the time he just runs away...

Finally was allowed to give scritches!

Clark up until now has only let us pet his nose, and even that was only on occasion and he didn't let us do it for very long. Last night, he was sitting on a shelf so I reached in and scratched under the side of his chin, and boy did I hit the spot! He tilted his little head to the side, closed...

Can anyone recommend a sitter/sitting service near Los Angeles?

I'm sorry if this isn't posted in the right section, please move it if it is. We are flying to New York (where I'm originally from) in August to get married and all of our friends who usually come over to watch the chins for us will be flying to NY as well for the wedding. Can anyone in the LA...

    Critter nation vs Ferret nation

I just wanted to add that the new FN 182 is just a snap together cage as well. We ordered from ferret.com and some of the pieces were a little bent and hard to snap together, but with a hammer it went together fairly easily for us. I'm not sure if they'd be like that from forhappydogs or if...

    Anyone else find hay EVERYWHERE?

I have a little Dustbuster that actually does a pretty good job on the hay. I have to empty it often but it doesn't get clogged, which is a plus. I wish we didn't have rugs though!

    Anyone else find hay EVERYWHERE?

I don't mind their mess and know that I'm their clean up slave :) but I must get it stuck to my feet and track it all around the house because I just found some in the bedroom!
