My oldest chin died a few months ago. He was almost 21 :( I still have Buttons and Kenjiro, who are 13 this year. Lots has changed since we got Buttons when he was 6 months old. Got married, have two kids and a hobby farm! Life is good.
I made a lot of the same mistakes when I first got my boys. I used vitamin drops, had the food with all the treats, fed raisins.....After Zippy died (pet store chin with neurological issues. He had always been a little odd...RIP Zippy), I researched and found this forum (at the time...
My boys went through the same thing. They finally have stopped fighting during playtime, but whenever I have tried to put them in the same cage, they fight within 10 mins. Out in the open though, they are fine to play and groom and whatnot for a long time. I just gave up on trying to get them to...
Ohhh they have toenails! I have the scratches to prove it! Trying to hold your chin when they are not used to being handled to put Bag Balm on their dry tootsies.....yea....no toenails there.............(they are getting used to it now tho :) )
I've got one! "Raisins, apples, and leafy greens...
They have that cage on petstreetmall.com in all three sizes. Slightly different dimensions then the FN 142 and almost $100 more! I think the FN is on permanent sale there and free shipping.

You know you're owned by your chinchillas when you are looking for a place to rent/buy, you make sure it has a good sized room just for your chinchillas to play...
lol my boyfriend agrees with you. I just ordered some stuff from Wunderchins and Ali for them to enjoy...and I plan to get them more for the cage when I get paid! I love my babies ^.^
So my boys are settled into their FN 142 and I decided to check on them this morning and get a couple pics. They weren't too happy because I woke them up...but they have shreddies to make up for it. I am going to buy a sewing machine and fleece to make them liners because Rith's section is this...
Hello!
I checked the vet listings on the forum and didn't see one for Colorado (specifically Colorado Springs for me). Anyone know of a good vet out here? I've never had to take my chins, but I wanna be prepared.
