I'm not a chin owner, but I'm a blind cat owner. If you didn't want to use the pen, we've found those baby gates are the best for keeping them in an area.
Ah, yes, I didn't see the other post.
Without the pedigree, you have no idea whether they were inbred, have WHS in their family, or other family history.
My girl has one kidney that's about 4x the size of the other, but my vet seems to think she's had it since she was born. The only thing that's different about her is that she can out pee a race horse.
Sending the best to you and your kitty!
I got Amelia from the pet store. I think because she was so young, and the store had opened three days before we got her, that she was in a lot better condition then if they weren't brand new.
Caring for animals is one of my strong suits. I have a 15 year old Persian who recently has gone blind, has to get high blood pressure medication, arthritic, and just had hernia surgery. Trust me, I'm not just for basic needs. :P
Oh, and Amelia gets spoiled rotten... she's incredibly spoiled. :)
Yeah, I don't trust books just because you can't update them like you can online. I know that there's so much wrong information about hedgies out there, and I just wanted to know the best websites for real info. I'll have to keep reading on here! :)
I've seen them, but I wouldn't give those meat sticks as treats. I'd just stick to fruits and veggies.
I wouldn't feed hot dogs just because of how many preservatives are in them... and how unhealthy they are.
Because Amelia loves to show off... :)
When we first got her, at her wellness vet visit.
She was so teeny tiny!
Mommy, why are you doing this to me?
Pwease stop, I is clean!
Carefresh is terrible... if something's so dusty to start off a reaction on a human, imagine what it could do for a hedgie's lungs?
Also, fleece liners are the least expensive way to go. For the price of two bags of care fresh, you can get a liner that can be washed and reused over and over again.
