    Temperature For Hedgie and Chins?

Hi there! I am a chin mama of 2, and my little guys are used to my home being at around 68 degrees F. I got an adorable little hedgie 2 days ago, and I know that she needs a warmer temperature. Is 72 a good meeting-in-the-middle point? I have her in a large Living World cage with a nice igloo...

    Problems at playtime

I'd say probably let her get used to your hand being flat in her cage first, and she might surprise you and eventually approach you! I use a dried rosehip- only one- in my hand, and I keep my hand very flat and still in the cage, and talk softly. Chinchillas are so curious by nature, usually...

    Alfie Ledge?

Does anyone know if the "Alfie" brand corner ledge on Amazon is kiln-dried pine or the dangerous pine? My little chin loves it, but he's chewed a little on it and I don't want it to hurt him!

Should I pick my chinchilla up yet?

Thank you! Thank you both! I will buy a scoop tonight and try scooping and replacing the aspen bedding tonight with Mr. Tuck still in his cage. He's getting very friendly now that he's adjusting to his new home! He won't let us pet him outright yet, but he trusts me enough to crawl into my hand...

Should I pick my chinchilla up yet?

Ok, thank you both! I'm going to buy a scoop today to see if he'll let me clean with him in the cage! He's been making great strides in being less scared and more friendly.

Should I pick my chinchilla up yet?

Hi all! I am a new chinchilla owner and I love my little Tuck already! He is a sweet, spunky guy! I am actually kind of afraid to pet or hold him too soon, though, because I have read so much about how I need to "let them come to you." I am definitely patient enough and totally get that! But...
