As a gift for my girls first birthday I was planning on getting a double level CN/FN. I would like to remove the middle pan so it's one large open cage, but I'm worried about my chins falling. What have y'all done to prevent this? What are some good ways to arrange my new cage?

I have a rabbit and 2 chinchillas but they are kept completely separate. Their cages are in separate areas of the house and have separate play areas. So far I have had no issues with my animals. I've had my rabbit for 12 years and my chins for 1 year.

I don't need it during the day since I'm out and about, so using it only at night works. I guess the best thing I can do is maybe use it only at night and keep monitoring humidify levels when its on.
