    breeders/chin shows in/around British Columbia?

There's BC Chinchilla House in Vancouver, Kristine Budlong. And there are breeders in Washington too. But give your home fellows first try . . .

    Hand feeding

No, you don't need to stimulate her anymore. She's doing well or you'd see other problems. Good job taking care of her!

    Can someone help?

So I can't be heard. How sad! Really, Peggy . . . okay, let the games begin!!

    Can someone help?

Exactly! Not primary! I never said prolapse couldn't happen, I said (and look it up there) that it was not from malo. Being a breeder too, we try very hard to successively improve the chinchilla in health, fertility, longevity, quality. I sell pets, not pelts. I haven't had a case of malo...

Well, there are differences of opinion.

    Can someone help?

That's a much different scenario, Narcissus. Bloat in the digestive tract would naturally mean crowding of the other organs in that area. The mouth, not so much. Now there may have been other issues with the animals that had prolapse, but I do not believe and neither do my vet tech friends...

    Can someone help?

Don't assume that I'm like any other breeders. My animals are in my home, in large cages with nest boxes, toys, houses, hammocks, etc. Our very first chin we lost after several years of dealing with the filings. Never saw a prolapse. I don't euthanize until it's absolutely necessary for the...

    Can someone help?

In 20 years I've dealt with a lot of malo & other health issues. Never saw a prolapsed penis that a vet said was pain related.

    Can someone help?

I think he's probably got more spurs in his mouth and needs to see the vet. Drinking a lot of water could also mean kidney problems. I won't go along with the penis being a pain response, he may just be at the end of his time. But the vet is your best bet. I hope it goes well, but in any...

    Clean-up of Drool from Malo

I would use a cat shampoo. It's designed to be mild and for cats who clean/lick themselves. No flea shampoos though. If you can hold him above the water you can probably just get the chin area. Rinse really well and blow dry on a warm setting. The dryers that have a "cool" button are really...

    Multiple Paternity Questions

Your white male is the father of the white kit, but the standard male could have fathered the other stillborn kit as stated. Chins have two horns to their uterus and can become open at the same time or even slightly later as we've had kits born a month after a previous litter. Please don't...

I just want it to be understood, our raffles were all paid for by me. NO ONE donated anything and NO ONE should be pressuring ANYONE to donate to any future shows. We pay our way. We always have and always will.

    Questions

Vyxxin will find out soon enough with their show that the judges for MCBA & ECBC are one in the same, and so are the standards. And you don't need all the combs & stuff. There is always someone who would be willing to groom your animal for you for the show. There are lots of people willing to...

    Questions

Is there any way of finding out 'about' how old it is? They are judged in classes of under 7 months or older than, male and female. Most chins peak at about 1 year to 18 months, but chins older than that have also done really well. If it's a young chin, it would do better against it's own age...

More Raffles More raffles: Twilight Chinchillas will be shipping us some furniture (houses, shelves, etc.) to be raffled. Her stuff is the best quality, fun, and really functional for chins. Attached is a picture of some of her stuff that she's done in the past. I don't know if what she...

Raffles Here are some of the donated raffles. They are two sets, one toast and one chocolate, of luxury towels. They were donated by a realtor who uses them to stage homes but had an extra set for me. Each set is six pieces, the toast is in two packages, the chocolate is in one package...
