    GoGo Chinchilla

Ever wonder why the Steiff chinchilla was named GoGo? Well if you've ever seen one with its original tag, on the back it has a little message: Ask for the picture book "Around the World with GoGo" GoGo was made by Steiff based on the 1964 children's book by Terry Shannon. GoGo was the pet of a...

    International items

I may be a bit obsessed with spoiling my chinny-chin-chins, so I'm often trawling for new prize inspirations for them. And I've come across a few interesting ones from foreign sites. And today I found this cute item: A timothy hay strawberry vine! And I thought these were interesting solutions...

    Speech perception

I have been reading some papers on chinchilla speech recognition and cognition, including Patricia Kuhl's work, and I wondered if anyone here had succeeded in conditioning a chinchilla to respond to certain words? Mine definitely can distinguish sounds pertinent to them, but it would be nice...

    Chinchilla jewelry

I've begun making some cute jewelry items for chinchilla lovers, you can see some that I just listed in my Etsy shop. I have about a dozen designs that I'm working on but I also can do customized items to match unique markings if anyone would be interested.

    Shed Whiskers?

This is probably a simple question, but do chins shed their whiskers? I've found one or two and I hope it's simply a natural process rather then my boys secretly picking on each other!

    Loofah scrubbers?

Does anybody know anything about these?? They're listed as "100% natural loofah, 100% natural vegetable dye coloring, 100% non-toxic biodegradable." So I thought they might be fun chew toy decorations, but I wanted to see what other people thought since it's not specifically marketed as a pet...

    Ikea score!

I picked up a couple of these mugs today, they're perfect for clipping to the side of the cage and filling full of twiglets! They're super cheap so I thought I'd share the tip. They also have some for a little more that you can color coordinate with your cage decor.

Smaller poops, does this look normal?

I'm a new chinmom so I may be overreacting but I have two boys that are almost 5 months and I noticed poops that are at least half the size they were. I cant think what could be causing this. They eat Oxbow pellets, lots of hay, treats are oat tops and a shredded wheat at playtime. Two nights...

    Fivel & Oblio

I thought I would post some photos of my boys. I adopted them from a rescue in November and they are 5 months old now. They're brothers and cuddle all the time, I'm really loving learning all about them. This is Fivel, he has a snub nose and is adventurous: This is Oblio, he has a straight...
