I used to use these! Although I got the small one (apparently made for hamsters but I have no idea how a hamster would fit in there) and just shoved the hay in there so that it all stuck out. They ended up pulling the hay out though so I gave up. What size one do you use?

FINALLY a happy update! Vet did the barium test, and the xrays show everything passed through quickly and like it should so there is no blockage. He still has a couple gas bubbles but she says they seem to have gotten smaller since the first xrays, so thats also a good sign. Brought him home...
