    Shaking head when eating, why?

Oh my god, that must have been a tough time and I'm so sorry even after all your hard work you couldn't save the eye. It definitely sounds like you tried your best for him though, and I'm glad he managed to bounce back so well. He sounds like a fighter! Thanks for sharing your experience. I...

    Shaking head when eating, why?

It was just something I read somewhere on the internet, sorry if I'm wrong. That's a relief to hear. He also gets really tired after exercise and always lies down, not really "collapsing" but looking "limp". So I guess that's why I suspected hypoglycemia.

    Shaking head when eating, why?

He is a beige, so I know he's more prone to seizures. He also sometimes freezes up and gets unresponsive for a while which I was worried are absence seizures.

    Shaking head when eating, why?

Thanks for replying! He's not on critical care, I just give him a syringe daily to supplement his water intake because he is having an eye infection. That's what I thought too, because the eye infection may be caused by dental issues. I haven't confirmed that yet. But I didn't know if such...

    Shaking head when eating, why?

This has happened twice. My chin kept shaking/tossing his head repeatedly more than five times in a row while I syringe-fed him critical care. He only did this while swallowing the first few mouthfuls. Some time before this, he twitched a few times when eating critical care once. What could this...

Sick chinchilla barely eating, drinking and inactive

I am going to the vet to check for respiratory infection, so I would appreciate if mods can help me delete this thread. Thanks very much for the help!

Sick chinchilla barely eating, drinking and inactive

He keeps swiping his nose/mouth since he came back from the vet too, I don't know why.

Sick chinchilla barely eating, drinking and inactive

I just heard him sneezing softly a few times, and now I'm worried about respiratory infection or flu. I don't want to stress him out by visiting the vet again unless necessary. What symptoms should I look out for as warning signs?

Sick chinchilla barely eating, drinking and inactive

Thanks tunes for replying, I always read your helpful posts on the forum. He is on Ciloxan, nothing else. Can I feed simethicone together with that? The vet checked his stomach and said it seems fine. He is eating a small amount of hay, I was more concerned because he doesn't seemed to be...

Sick chinchilla barely eating, drinking and inactive

My chinchilla suddenly became motionless two days ago. He ignored treats, food and my prodding. I took him to the vet, who diagnosed a heart murmur and eye infection. He was sent for an ultrasound. He struggled a lot and they could only get clear views of one side of his heart, but the vet said...
