    Cleaning pee off of fur?

Gizmo has dried pee on his fur around his rear end. I thought I read somewhere that you can use a bit of water to clean them as long as you use a blow dryer on the cool setting to completely dry them. Is this right? Is there a better way to clean the pee off? Could it be brushed out of the fur?

    Chin not pooping.

The pooping seems to have picked up but everything still looks soft and maybe darker than usual? They are definitely just soft though. No slim. I guess we'll see how things look in the morning.

    Chin not pooping.

I pulled his pellets about an hour ago because I saw that you should for the soft poops. He seems to be eating, drinking and peeing normally. How long should I wait to see if he's pooping more?

    Chin not pooping.

I think Gizmo might not be feeling well and I don't know what to do. He had his cage cleaned this morning and since then he seems to have pooped very little. He has a few poops in his cage but not nearly as many as usual. Also the poops that are in there are soft. He was active this morning...

    pine wood at Lowes

Whitewood and pine are the same thing? MY boyfriend and I went to Lowes awhile ago to buy wood for shelves and most of it was marked as whitewood. I asked him to look up if it was safe for chins and he said he found something that says it isn't.

How to clean pee off of hay basket?

The entire bottom level of his cage has shavings for him to pee on. He'll usually pee in one or two corners down there and then starts on all the other corners in the cage. I've been thinking that maybe if I used containers of shavings in the corners and just dump and refill them every time he...

How to clean pee off of hay basket?

He does chew on it so I can't spray it. I could only find one small wet spot on the underside of the basket. Is it normal for chins to pee where they sleep? I know with cats and dogs they will try their best not to go to the bathroom where they sleep but Gizmo doesn't seem to care.

How to clean pee off of hay basket?

We haven't had him for very long (maybe a month) and he's been peeing in various spots since around week 2 of having him. He seems fine in every other way so I think he's just one of those 'pee's everywhere" types. Should I just throw the basket out or can I let it dry and then put it back in...

How to clean pee off of hay basket?

Gizmo has taken to peeing anywhere and everywhere in his cage. I had to throw out a few chew sticks that had pee all over them and a cardboard tube recently. I just bought him a hay basket which he loves sleeping in. Unfortunately he also appears to love peeing in it as well. I don't want to...

    Who here has playpens?

I have one of those metal fold up ones. Today Gizmo figured out how to jump up and grab onto the top. I got him before he decided to jump down. I guess now I should invest in one of the Wares. They look bigger than mine anyway and I'd like him to have more room to play.

    Eating bedding?

Thanks guys! You all are probably right, he is just chewing it up. I didn't even think of that. I think him eating the Carefresh this afternoon has just left me in a panicky mom mood. Who knows, maybe he was just chewing the Carefresh too, but I wouldn't want to take a chance with that. Thanks...

    Eating bedding?

We have been using Carefresh bedding for Gizmo since we got him (less than 2 weeks). The Petsmart we got him from using the Carefresh for all of their small animals so he's been keep in it for most of his short life. I saw some threads on here about Carefresh not being the best choices for chins...

So sorry about Buggs's finger. Sending good thoughts your way and hoping it's just a break and not cancer!

Received my degree in show grooming

I don't know anything about grooming; I'm new to the chin world. I was wondering if you had any pictures of the before and after you could post? I would love to see the difference especially since I can't imagine what all would be done to them.
