Hi, I'm mommy to only 1 chinchilla. Rescued him from the local shelter who sexed him wrong! They had him as a female. My previous one was a male so I was saying to myself, hmm, I get to have experience with a female now. Well, nope. He is DEFINITELY male.
Anyways, I've had a chinchilla in my life for about 16 years now. Smokey is my second one and my first one was Monie.
I find supplies are lacking here in Canada though. It's not easy finding chin appropriate stuff in the local pet stores. You find a lot of plastic things, packages of wood that aren't specifically named (it says all natural wood. ok, we all know wood is natural. thanks for the info.), feed that has junk like sunflower seeds in it. Anyways, I now have to shop online or at a store 45 mins away from me that's operated in a home by a chinchilla owner. It's sad.
