trimming fur around eye

i need to trim the fur around my chins eye because its way to long and its getting in her eye/sight.
what do you suggest i use? last time i burritoed her and used a fingernail clippers (i didnt want a scissors near her eye) but is there a better way?

Yikes! I've never heard of anyone needing to do that before. I'd be way too nervous to have something sharp near their eye. Can you take a picture of the area? I'm curious to know what you're talking about.

i dont have a camera currently sorry. and yah im really nervous trimming around her eye. but the fur is at least half an inch or more in some places and it all angled into her eye. i usualy brush it away but occasion it gets to long. -.-
