I've spent the last couple weeks preparing crab apple and apple wood for the first time for my chinchilla. He loves it just the way it is, but I was wondering if baking it with rosehips/hibiscus and/or other safe herbs for chinchillas would infuse it with the flavor of the herbs. They wouldn't end up on the wood, but rather would just cook with the wood in the pan and then the herbs would be sifted out before giving it to my chin. Has anyone tried this? Does it sound like a good idea?

perhaps another way to infuse the herbs in the wood would be to put them in the water during the boiling step? Anyway, let me know what you think. Having a chinchilla makes me feel creative, lol. Him chowing down and appreciating the things I give him is really compelling positive feedback.
