So today when I cam home i went to see the chins but Benji was just sitting there with water all over his face, but no where else. on the top of his head and the sides and one of his ears. I thought it was water but when i picked him up and smelled it it smelled like pee.my theories are that he was either peed on by Timothy which is weird because Benji is the 'Alpha', or he laid down/rolled and face planted in some pee. Any suggestions? My mom and I wiped him down with a wet towel, then dried him as best we could.

also, i notice as i was holding him that he seemed to be shivering. not really, but more vibrating, like how a cat would if it was purring. it mostly seemed to be around his throat area but it was vibrating his whole body. my mom thought maybe he was having a stroke of some sort but we do not know. he is behaving completly normal, moving about and eating and drinking and pooping, but it is all very weird.

Is it red around his eyes? He does not look good but if you say his eating, poop and behavior are normal than I would wipe him down with a baby wipe and then gently dry him off and offer him a dust bath. If he's housed with another chin, I would keep an eye on both of them for any serious aggression.

no it is not red. it's been a few hours and i have been watching them but they seem to be going about their daily routine, grooming, eating, sleeping, cuddling etc.

So I should wipe him down with a baby wipe, like huggies? or just a wet towel? I will go offer him a dust bath. Thanks!

ewww...... but it was a HUGE area! if you see in the picture it was the whole top of his head and both sides!

oh and you can compare and contrast that pic to my profile pic, they are both of Benji

thats what we thought and I guess its a possibility but the chins never pee off the shelves, they both have there separate corners.

or he could have swiped near his water bottle then tried to dry off in the corner with pee? stranger things have happened!

That is strange!

As for the vibrating Ivy tends to shake when first picked up. But shes been a bag of nerves after Zella passed. I think it is just being scared.

But if he has never done it before the question is what is making him scared?

hmm... yes he might be scared. but the thing is he doesn't just do it in my arms, but also my moms and my dads. we recently got a little shop vac to clean up the cage, could this be scaring him?

Maybe. Ivy shakes in my arms, my boyfriends, and his parents. It just depends. Ivy is scared of loud music, and when people come over she do not know.
