Shedding?

Silly question...do some mutations shed more than others? My mosaics seem to shed more than my standard or maybe I just notice it more because they are white! What is the difference between shedding and priming?:hmm:

Good question. I have no idea what the answer is, but I'm interested to see what some more experienced people say. Einstein (beige) seems to be shedding like crazy lately!

Priming is shedding. As far as whether the different colors shed differently, I have not noticed a difference.

Funny you mention the thing about mosaics...My mosaic male tends to lose more fur than the rest in my herd. This isn't even during priming either; he just tends to lose a lot more than the others.

I have seen a few pictures of some chins that were "priming" and their fur look pretty awful as opposed to just the shedding I'm referring to. Do all chins prime? Is it just a heavier shed? Is it a certain time of year?
