Safe food coloring?

Is this okay to use on shelves with my chinnies?


It is Wilton brand. Its called FoodWriter Edible Color Markers.
I believe these are the ones :

Also, any tips?
My plan is to use a stencil & color the stencil with these things. HOPEFULLY it works out well & doesn't come off once it has dried & hopefully it stays in the shape of the stencil and doesn't run or anything.

Yes they are safe, not sure how they will stand up on the shelves but can't hurt to try!

I hope it works. I'm going to let it air dry over night. (Or how ever long it takes to dry.. haha.)

Would it be better to bake it in the oven? If so, what temp and how long?

For the markers, I wouldn't bother drying in the oven. If you were using actual dye that was liquid and you dipped the wood in, or painted it on, then yes, I'd oven bake it. I usually put my pieces in @ 200 degrees, and just leave it on until it feels dry, and then leave it out another day before using for anything.
