My chinchilla has done something I have never seen him do before, sleep with his eyes open! This is the second day I've seen him on his house sleeping like that. Also, yesterday when i was cleaning up his cage, I found two whiskers? They were mostly white on the top of it. Is this normal?

yes some chin sleep with their eyes open. I had one the constantly scared me. She slept on her side, eyes open in the middle of the cage. When I called her, she never responded (she knew her name), I finally had to poke her. Then she would wake up and look at me as if to say 'what the heck is the matter with you'. This went on for years. And yes they sometimes lose whiskers
