Question on weening

Tommy Boy is now 7 1/2 weeks old, he is an only kit and is over 300 grams already!! The other day I tapped on the water spout to try and peek his interest he then sniffed & licked it. (if a chin could make a "yucky" face he would have):laughitup: So I have been told that I will need to put him in his own cage and make sure that he continues to gain weight before he is adopted out.

My question, do I wait until I see him drinking water or will he only start to want water after he is away from Mom??:hmm:

I'm sure he's drinking on his own. You just may not be seeing it. He's definitely old enough and large enough to be away from mom, so go ahead and wean him, then observe his behavior, eating, etc. to make sure all is going well.
