Pumpkins

I have searched the web and have found conflicting information about pumpkins and Chinchillas. Are Pumpkins okay for chinchillas? This time of year they are in an abundance and was wondering if putting a pumpkin in their play room where they can jump, climb and chew on it was safe? I don't intend on feeding it to them but anything in their playroom is fair game when it comes to chewing.

Chewing = feeding with most chins. I'd only consider it for a brief photo op rather than a toy/furniture.

I would only use it briefly for pictures as well and not let them chew it, definitely not as a play item. Not only should they not be ingesting it, but who knows what kind of pesticides have been sprayed on it while they were growing in the field.

Thanks for the advice. I will take the advice, wash the pumpkin well and use it for a few photos and then remove it from their room.
