I bought a beautiful eb white female chinchilla on June 6 and SURPRISE three months later come triplets....I was actually sold this chin because she had been with many males and no pregnancies.....and I didn't want to breed, so asked for slow breeders or sterile females...
well, introducing my three ebs....
all males, eb white, Zebra, medium eb ZEKE and dark eb ZORRO
and, because MAMA Chimo has never had babies before, it took a few days for milk to come in, so I have been handfeeding. For the last few days, (they were born August 25) I have been rotating out the biggest male to let the runt nurse on one side by himself, as they fight over nipples....
so, introducing CANDI, a gorgeous beige retired breeder female who looks after the babies when they are rotated. She is so adorable, keeps them warm, and cleans their bums.....and doesn't mind when they try to nurse.
I adore Candi, she is the best nursemaid there is.
