So I recently purchased a chinchilla from a breeder. He has one toe, it appears to be a deformity. It doesn't look like he was injured, I guess he was born this way. I can't find anything on the internet explaining if this is something genetic or just a deformity that isn't anything to worry about. Anyone have any guidance?

I have some guidance - ignore it and let him be a chin. :) Chins live without toes, without feet, without legs. He'll be just fine.

Congrats on the new chin!

I agree, ive had chinchillas without whole legs from previous amputations. If anything, they have a story which makes them unique. As said, they get along fine without. Congrats!
