Neuroma after amputation

Has anyone ever experienced a Neuroma after an amputation that happened 2 1/2 ish years ago?

It can happen, does the chin have any symptoms along with it?

yes, he is eating all the fur off around the area.. quite a bit of it.. other than that no...but he likes to have it massaged/scratched.

It's not scar tissue? Did the vet say it was a tumor? I don't think I've ever had a chin that had something like that form.

I've never seen this happen. I wonder if the amputation was done properly or why it would take this long to appear. I would have a vet check it out.

The vet isnt sure why it would happen now..I'm going to make an appointment and see if he can get some xrays and see what's going on in there.

I wonder if it's really a neuroma type of thing or scar tissue or something else. Sometimes chins will have an amputation and sort of pick at the site because of nerve damage or other pain, so they can end up building up some pretty thick scar tissue.
