Hi!
I am new to owning a Chinchilla, I just got her last week at Petsmart. Her name is Kimchi, Chii for short. I actually went there just to see how they would be like and if I would like them as a pet. One of the salesperson let me hold her and she was calm in my hands the whole time! Because I saw how she didn't mind me holding her for so long, I just had to snatch her up before someone else does. Right now she's adjusting, she went on my shoulder so far and plays on the bed. She lets me stroke her face a bit, but I think I will have to wait a while to be able to carry her fully by hand or pet her more. She is just darling. I think the reason why I didn't get a chinchilla in the first place because my sister told me they are much harder to take care of than cats, and cats are pretty much the easiest to take care. Then I did the research myself and it didn't seem that bad. I couldn't do the cat litter very well, my sister handled it as well as just being allergic to it. However Kimchi's, even if she poops a lot, is much easier to handle in the sense of how light and can pretty much clean in one go. Also I don't have to go to the basement, I have phobia over bugs and have some knee problems, so I don't like going on stairs that much. I have hard wood floors in the house so it's easy to sweep up. Anyway, going to attach some cute pictures of Kimchi.
