I think that one of the best ways to support the liver is to use standardized silymarin. Here is a product that you can purchase: http://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Thistle-Standardized-Silymarin/dp/B0013OULVA/ref=pd_sbs_hpc_1
You can give Ferdinand about 25mg (1/6 of the capsule since 1 capsule is 150mg) of silymarin per day (can be mixed with a small amount of syringe feed). This amount can be divided into two feedings. It is a safe daily amount for chins (it is fine to offer slightly more than 25 mg); mice can tolerate 20g/kg! Silymarin should be used daily for at least one, two months. Then it can be offered every other day or a few times a week for support. Usually, it is very effective (protects liver cells and rebuilds cells that have been damaged).

Also, I highly recommend using a herbal supplement; for example, organic Broad Spectrum supplement: http://www.fuzzieskingdom.com/herbs/treats/organic-supplement.html
About 1/2-3/4 teaspoon can be offered daily (if necessary, you can grind it and mix with syringe feed).

I hope you little guy feels better soon :)

Thank you you guys, it's that crazy self doubt I could/should have been able to do something. He's even still chewing on his toys, he's a tough little guy. I made a vet appointment to go over them with the regular vet on wednesday.
