I talked to Bob Merritt yesterday and he informed me that we are really needing Mutation animals to be entered in the show. We will have right around 100 Standards for the show, but those same exhibitors are only bringing a handful of Mutations. We need 50 total Mutations entered to have a Sanctioned Mutation Show. If you have any Standards or Mutations and were thinking of possibly attending and showing your chins, please do. This show is an excellent opportunity to have your animals evaluated by 2 Empress Hall of Fame judges Jim Ritterspach and Dick Bradford. We need everyone's support and more animals entered in these shows to be able to continue having these events. The show is open to all chinchillas, pet or breeder, that are in good health. Ribbon awards will be offered to every animal earning 1st-5th place with trophies awarded to the top animals and breeders. Plan to attend and bring your animals to show for fun and competition. We in the ECBC Heartland Branch thank you and need your support to continue to make this a successful and fun show.

I was hoping to possibly attend, but it would be a big stretch, as I go back to class this week, and I don't think all of my chins are ready yet. Hope that you guys get some surprise attendees to help out!

I have 3 mutations but idk if I will make it. I was planning on going but ill post on here Friday for sure.

I've got very good feedback from people planning to attend and show animals this Saturday. We are currently right at 100 standards, which will allow us to have a 10-class standard show. We are also now at about 37 mutations which will allow us to have a sanctioned mutation show as well. These numbers are based on just the people I have talked to personally the last 2 days. Hopefully, we will have even more come and join us at the show.

Looks like we are set to have a good, quality show. We will have a 10-class Standard show and a sanctioned Mutation show. I've talked with breeders from Colorado, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas that are coming and showing their chins. Looking forward to seeing everyone and having a good quality show and a lot of fun and hopefully meet some new people as well.

P.S. I will have a few Blue Diamonds at the show for everyone to see.

The show went well. I believe there was 101 standards and 55 or so mutes. Dick Bradford and Jim Ritterspach were great judges and had a good time judging. Mark Miller swept the table and took Grand Show, Reserve Grand Show, and also 3rd Best of Show in standards. He also took Grand Show Mutation with a beautiful BV, and Cathy Kane took Reserve with a BV and 3rd with a TOV beige.

The Blue Diamonds were quite a sight to see in person, and it was interesting to see the difference in tendency towards sapphire or violet. All 5 there took 1st place!

I had a great time, and can't wait for next year!

I wish I could have made it... turned out to be a light week at school instead of what was expected. :( Can't wait until Colorado though!

Congrats to all of the winners!
