Ikea shelf safe?

My dad got ikea shelves for the house. however he had to cut a part out and so he made the leftover into a shelf and now it's in my chinchillas cage. the shelf is yellow wood that looks like kiln dried. i googled and the Shelf:
Particleboard, Birch veneer, Clear acrylic lacquer. I obviously know it's not a chinchilla shelf but it has a glaze on it/coating so i don't think he'll chew it.

No it is not safe. He will eventually chew it and it has many chemicals in it.

As narcissus said, full of chemicals. Very unsafe. Please remove it from your chin's cage. IKEA is fine for furniture, not for chinchillas.

I just did. Thank you for the quick replies. I can't take that risk of harming my chinchilla. Although the shelf was beautiful its not worth it. i guess I'll have to order more safe shelves.
