Hello,

So I just brought my Chinchilla home on Saturday and I'm really worried about her because I've been reading soft poop is bad. She has had soft poop since I've brought her home. She seems to be acting normal jumping and moving around. Is there anything I should do to help her?

Soft poop can be from stress as well as illness. By soft poop do you mean slightly squishy or do you mean runny? Runny is not stress, slightly squishy can be. Do you have good quality fresh hay? If you do, try pulling her pellets for a few days and just offer the hay, being sure to change it out if it gets soiled or wet. If the poops don't return to normal within a few days of that, I would consider getting a stool sample in to a vet to check for giardia or other parasitic infections.
