When I had Annie out of her cage today and she was running all over me, letting me pick her up and pet her and seeming to have a good time, I felt really proud. I can remember only a few months ago when she was a ball of sharp quills and would nervously peak her head out, so afraid of me. Now she gets hyper and excited to explore right when I take her out of her cage and she seems to know me.
It is just so rewarding to have a hedgehog as a pet, because its not like a puppy that runs up to you and licks your face right off the bat (in most cases).
I worked to earn Annie's trust and I'm so happy now that I have it.
