Hot N Cold

So my chinchilla (Marshmallow) is almost 2 years old and practically wants nothing to do with me or my gf. When she is out playing we try to approach her and she runs away. She will go back into her cage on her own time. My gf attempted to pick her up and almost got bitten.
The really weird thing is that lately when my gf is talking and petting our two baby chins Marshmallow will go up to her through her cage bars as if she wants attention too. My gf gladly gives it, but it confuses us because any other time we try to give her attention she doesn't want it. It seems like shes jealous of the attention the other two get, but she doesn't want it when we try to give it to her.
Any feedback would help. We are just confused by her "Hot 'N' Cold" behavior. :wacko:

There is no quick fix to make a sassy chinchilla totally calm. Just patience.
