hello everyone, thanks for taking a look.
i have a question about hair rings in male chinchillas.
i have a single male chin with no cage mate, nor cuddle buddy. it has caught my attention that he has been very well..."active" if you will (keep in mind he has no contact with another chinchilla) i was curious as to if i should be doing hair ring checks. i recently took him to the vet for a check up and much to my surprise all the vet did was weigh him, listen to his breathing, and check his ears. i'm not sure what a full check up should consist of but i left it at that. can hair rings only develop in chins who are in contact with other chins or can they develop from their own fur? i've tried looking for a similar post before i posted this thread but i had no luck. so if anyone out there can clarify the subject it would be GREATLY appreciated. thank you in advance! :blueblob:
