Glue/Nails/Screws

Hello.
I was wondering how you put together your homemade wood pieces for your cage. Like shelves, or mostly the shelters for they to hide. How do you assemble them? Do you use glue or nails/screws?
If you use glue, must it be a special type?
I'm thinking about building my cage shelves and hideouts and toys. But I wanna make sure its safe

Nails and Screws should never be used as your chins is going to chew on their house and even their ledges.

Glue is used to get the poo guards on shelves and to put houses together.

Elmers Non-Toxic School Glue and Elmers Non-Toxic Wood Glue are both safe to use.
