Hi,
I am a soon to be chin owner and found a ferret/chinchilla cage I want to buy, but it said it is steel with a "non toxic" epoxy coated finish...Is the epoxy safe for them? Please let me know what you think! Thanks :)

I may be wrong, but I think the FN and CN cages that are very popular are epoxy coated or painted. (perhaps powder coated?)

Either way most cages have some coatings on the wires, and seem to be OK. Very few cages I've seen are bare metal.

It may help if you post what type of cage, cause is someone here has had it or owns it, they could probably tell you more.

Yeah, with most cages, if it isn't galvanized, it's epoxy coated. I have seen many people throughout the years with many different types of rodents, including chinchillas, in epoxy-coated wire cages and they seem to be fine even after biting some of it off...
