Ear Tearing

Hi i have 2 female chinchillas around 4 months old, i bought them about 3 weeks ago from the same pet shop where they were housed together.I got them home and they're in the same cage and they seemed to settle in fine but this morning when i checked on them, one of them has a hole in her ear and the other chin's ear has been torn. can anyone help me out as to why they are doing this?

It sounds like they're fighting. They could be just stressed from the move, but you need to keep a VERY close eye on them. If the fighting happens again, you may need to permanently separate them.

Make sure the tears/holes heal cleanly. If they get swollen and red, or have pus coming out, then get them to a vet ASAP
