I've grown my own loofah before ..I like it for some of the spa items I make here... and it wasn't a HUGE plant. Well.. I'm almost 6' and not petite, so they aren't huge to me, at least.
I left the things/fruits/loofahs on the vine and let them dry ..then I peeled all the husky skin off, used a slightly stiff bristled brush to get it all off ...and then sliced it up for use. Mine wasn't perfectly "beige" (?) in color, but I think the stuff is probably soaked/bleached ..safely, of course.. before we get it as consumers, anyway. Just my assumption...
3CsMommy.. I am interested in a few seeds, if you have 10 or so. I don't need a lot of them ..my chickens took over half my garden with their run and coop, this year. A fair trade.. cackleberries for a little space
