You need to find out what kind of wood it is. I'd look specifically for kiln dried pine or aspen.

They don't list what kind of wood shaving it is. Some woods are toxic. I would look for pine shavings.

I've looked into pets at home shavings before and they said that all wood used in the uk for pet bedding has to be kiln dried and their wood shavings are made mostly from uk pine which has much lower phenols than american pine used in america they also use some aspen in the mix, I've used it before for my chins when I get short of other litter options and it seems fine.

Thanks - It is totally a temp measure, Ive been using newspaper and hay bedding since I got them, but not totally happy hence the switch to liners.
