B-Sides: From the digital clipping room floor...

I post a fraction of the photos I take of my puffrats.

With 1000's sitting there using up hard-drive space, I figure I should just randomly troll through and post them now and then. So here's a start!

All of these are from the first half of last year. All chins are still healthy and doing well.

An interesting note: All these photos are more or less as they came from the camera. In the past, I've color-corrected but I've left these as is. All have an extra 'warm' feel to them. This is because they were taken at a buddy's place, who's a smoker. The 'warm' light is from his smoke/nicotine-stained ceiling and walls. I bounce my flash off these surfaces to get the natural light/shadow. The downside is any color on those surfaces is reflected also. Yuk!

I was wondering, what happened to Boo's ears? As lil Boo they look okay, but in the other picture they are all chewed up?

Sasha: Boo and Lil'Boo are two different chins. Boo -- commonly called the "Index Chin" because he was the first and infected us all with this incurable disease -- has mangled ears, similar to Fungus. These two were attacked by others in the wholesale mill from breeders to pet stores. They became throw-aways, which is how we got 'em. Lil'Boo was tossed because he had fungus on his nose and lost all his hair there. You can see the bald ring still in early pics of Lil'Boo. Lil'Boo was in rehab to see if his hair would come back when I got word of him, so I traded an Iron Maiden concert seat for him. I got Fungus for an Iron Maiden official tour shirt a couple months later! Good trades, I think.

Of course, Lil'Boo got his name while he was still at the wholesalers because he was a spitting image of what Boo looked like before he was rescued. And I use that term on purpose. Unsellable chins don't have great prospects in the pipeline.
