Those of you who have known me for a long time probably know my sister is very active in dogs rescue, and has been for many years. She currently works with a rescue she started herself after growing tired of the way things were going in the group she was involved with. Unfortunately, her rescue is Doxie specific(although she takes mixes) and with that comes the issue of major back problems. Luckily dogs with major back problem requiring surgery don't come into the rescue very frequently, but when they do they are VERY costly and require a community effort to pay for them. Sadly she currently has a young dog with lots of life to live ahead of him who needs major surgery too do so, and in this horrible economic state, fundraising is not an easy venture so she is trying to branch out to animal lover near and far who can give even a couple dollars to help save this dogs life. Here is a copy of the flyer she is sending a round, and a picture of Sammy. Anything anyone can do to help is GREATLY appreciated, and feel free to pass this on to anyone you may know.

SAMMY’S STORY
Sammy needs your help. Sammy is the sweetest 2-year old miniature Dachshund you'd ever want to meet. We rescued him from a bad situation. Sammy came to us broken. He is suffering from a spinal cord injury which not only causes him pain but also requires him to live most of his life in a crate to avoid any further injury. Sammy is partially paralyzed and in desperate need of surgery to repair the damage.

Sammy's surgery is very expensive--$6,000, but it will give him a new chance at life. Every dollar counts, no amount is too small. Please pass this information along to every animal lover you know so Sammy has a chance to live a normal life. He's so young, and very endearing. Even with everything he is going through, he still wags his tail and loves everyone.
