mine does this EVERY NIGHT. hahah i think he does it to get attention/when hes bored. he has tonnes of things in his cage to chew on, and i hate when he chews his cage because 1) its so noisy, and 2) i feel like it would hurt so much! lol!

yeah. i should actually correct myself..when i said sprain i didnt mean like an actual sprain. she never said sprain in the message so i duno why i typed that lol i just meant like a soreness/something very minor that was better by the next day. i dont know why so many of you continue to assume...

Update- the chinchilla is fine. It just ended up being a small sprain and was back to normal the next morning. (I messages the poster to see how the chin was and thankfully everything is ok!)

Loose timothy hay, oxbow pellets, tap water (he's been on that for ever) and he rarely gets treats. Sometimes dried papaya (but lately I've stopped that bc they are high in sugars) .. So he's been getting some alfalfa hay (literally a few strands every few days)
