    Heating Question...

Hello, I am looking into getting set up with a heat lamp for my hedgie. She is currently being heated with electric heat, but this is getting costly to heat the whole room. Also, since she is in my bedroom, it is getting too warm for me. Lol. So, I have been checking kijiji to see if I can...

    Mites? Or something else?

I was confused by that too. I’m planning on giving her a foot bath tomorrow and cutting her nails. So I will check for myself then and maybe wipe her stomach with a wet facecloth. I haven’t done it yet. She isn’t having anything to do with me right now, she didn’t like the skin scraping and...

    Mites? Or something else?

Just to update: My mom took Hailie to the vet today while I was in school. They are not familiar with hedgies, but had researched ahead of time. I had wrote down all the information I could think of. (food, shavings, symptomes, etc) They examined her and found that she weighed 1.5 pounds...

    Mites? Or something else?

I'll definatly make sure to get Revolution. It's good to know that she is okay to have it as a precaution. I think i'll get it just to make sure. Never heard of plain pine being bad. Thanks for the heads up! I just checked the bag and it doesn't say kiln dried. I have a fleece blanket I can...

    Mites? Or something else?

Hi, I'm not sure if this is an emergency or not, but there is something up with my hedgie. To start off, she is about 6 months old. I have had her for four. She is on pine bedding and has gone through her quilling already. She is getting Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers soul lite. With no...

    Canadian Hello!

Okay, thanks. Yes, she does have patches on her cheeks, they are a little darked now than they were in that picture. Haha, there’s a lot of different colors and most of them aren’t that different from each other.

    Canadian Hello!

Hello, :) I have been a member on here for a while, but have never officially introduced myself. I usually just lurk. ;) My name is Ashley. I got my first hedgehog in October. She was eight weeks old and I have since named her Hailie. I also have a three year old pomeranian. His name is C.J...

    Sleepy or Hibernation?

She seems to be back to normal today.:) Hopefully it stays that way. I'm going to start trying to figure something out to get her off the floor, even a little bit and in the meantime keep her heat up a little higher than normal. Thanks for the help everyone.

    Sleepy or Hibernation?

It's possible there was a draft. She was right under a window. I have moved her back to where she was before and turned the heat up a little more. So hopefully this will do the trick. When I took her out and warmed her up, she was back to her normal, huffy self in about 5-10 minutes.

    Sleepy or Hibernation?

Hello, I went to go check on Hailie (my hedgie) after getting home tonight. She was in her pvc pipe, which is unusual bit not completely different. So I started talking to her and didn't get the normal hissing greeting. So I pick the tube up. She didn't hiss or seem to reacte to my touch...

    Quilling - What to Expect?

She seems to be pretty much back to normal. I did turn the heat up in the room, and I do leave a light on during the day. She seems to prefer to wander on her own than be held. Thanks for the advice. (:

    Quilling - What to Expect?

Hello, I have my first hedgehog. She is about 8 weeks, and has started quilling. As she is my first, I'm not sure what to expect. Is it normal for her to eat less than normal? She is also less active at night, and when I take her out in the evenings, she just wants to sleep. Also, she isn't...
