i just use a double folded layer of 'raw' fleece for liners most of the time. makes for cheap liners, and you never have to worry about stitching coming loose.

i'd go with solid colour liners, LoveBug, to compliment the colours in those two patterns. for the zebra/peace sign one, i'd get both pink and blue solids to match the peace signs (since they are the two more prominent colours), and for the other dot pattern, i'd get both green and blue solids to match. you can never have too many liners! lol.

i'm thinking about ordering my liners from her, but havent decided if i want to go with actual liners or just get fleece and put it over the tray. and i'm not sure on what fabric, since it has to be cute and somewhat match these two lol.

I love the peace signs as it's my daughters favorite symbol.

I've also been talking to Shooper to see about putting together a total package kit for the FN cages, a all in one package (Pan covers - pillow case style with Velcro, Hammock, Fleece tube and Hanging Bed). I like the ideal of a one stop shop for a complete kit.

you're actually where i got the idea from for just using folded fleece.
do you put a towel in the middle of it to absorb any pee?

it's my favorite symbol as well :)

and i just ordered these sets because i wasn't sure about if i wanted to get liners or not, but i think i'm gonna take Chinnymom's idea.

nope, just two layers of fleece (actually one big piece folded in half). only Rhino's cage gets liners for now, since Guss's cage has a bare metal pan that encourages him to use his litter bowl (i'm sure i wouldn't want to have puddles of pee around me either! lol). Rhino is a fleece pee-er, even though he has a litter bowl too. I change Rhino's liner every couple days, and pre-soak liners in a bucket with hot water and a bit of laundry soap to get the pee stains out before they go in the wash.

okay, cause ours has the plastic pans in it. we'll get pans from bass equipment eventually but it may not be before we get her. but i'm not quite sure how to put it on the top section because it has the cutout.. :/

cut your fleece like this (the black line is where you fold it in half). sorry if the image is small, i busted out my mad Paint skills just for you!

hahahaha thanks, it'll work i can figure that out. do you clip it down with like binder clips or do you just put heavy stuff in the corners so they can't dig under it?

Rhino's cage has a wood bottom for now, until i make the tile floor (finding somebody to cut tile is horridly hard up here!), so i don't have to worry about any plastic pan eating. he's not a burrower/digger at all, but i do put a 12x12 inch ceramic tile in two corners and his litter bowl in a third corner. the corner under his water bottle i leave uncovered in case his water bottle drips - i'd rather have the water soak into the fleece than have it pool on top of something, potentially getting Rhino wet.

i thought about putting tile in the cage, but wasn't sure if a ferret nation could hold all that weight, plus didnt know if it was good for chins feet. yeah i'd rather have the fleece soak up the water as well. i think i'll just take you're idea for now and use the fleece and just use binder clips plus litter pan, and tile for the chin chiller for keeping it down.

i've seen a ferret nation cage with a full tile floor in it. can't recall what thread on here it was in, but it looked nice!

once i'm finally able to get the tile floor done in Rhino's cage, i'm making it in two pieces so i can lift each piece out through the cage door for easy cleaning. those with ferret nation cages are lucky to have both doors open up wide. next cage for me is definitely going to be a FN!

tile is fine for chins to walk on.

i have too actually i think it might be in the ferret nation thread. but just didnt know if it was good on a chins feet, since its not soft its hard, and being on that 24/7, that'd hurt my feet lol.

from my experience with my two boys, i find they don't spend a lot of time on the cage floor, but up on their shelves or in tubes/hammocks, etc. chins like to be up high, not down low. so they wouldn't be on the tile 24/7 at all.

true, hmm i'll figure something out. probably stick with fleece for now and then slowly upgrade to either a pan or tile.

I think that a FN would be able to handle a tile floor, its a very heavy duty cage.
I went to Jo ann fabrics today and did buy fleece for the 50% off. I couldnt pass it up. Plus my girl needs something a little lighter in color since the pink fleece I have in there currently has made her whole belly pink! Has anyone else had problems with the fleece changing their light colored chins the color of the fleece? I'm not going to lie it is cute having a pink chin running around..lol

you should have gotten a coupon either in the store's catalogue or online, it was for an extra 15% so you coulda gotten 65% off on your fleece.
i've never heard of fleece dying a chin colors, but i have heard of colored wood changing a chin colors.

I wish I would have known about the extra coupon! I didnt even think to check. There's a joann's right down the road from my school so I went on my break between classes.

My pink Chin!

sounds like the colour in that pink fleece wasn't set properly during manufacturing. i would run it through a few washes on hot before putting it back in the cage.

Thats what I was thinking. I've washed the fabric a few times. The problem could be fixed but maybe she is just still pink. I bought more fabric in a different pattern to make a new set of pan covers. I'm going to make the pillow case kind because she now loves to get under the tucked fleece and run around like a bug under a rug. Its really cute but I cant have her possibly chewing the plastic pans.
