What types of air purifiers are safe?

I heard that air fresheners are unsafe for chins, which is explainable, but that air purifiers aren’t. I’ve never used either before in the chinnie room, but I’m thinking about putting one in there to keep the room smelling fresh. Are there certain types of purifiers that I should avoid? Are smells that chinchillas like in particular?

Yes for the most part air fresheners are not safe, they use chemicals to mask smells. Air purifiers are just basically fans with an air filter on it, they keep the air clean of dust and other partials like your AC does. I don't think there are any air purifiers that aren't safe, but just like with a fan don't point it directly at the chin's cage. Unless you mean like those air purifying bags? The ones that use baking soda and/or charcoal to absorb odors, and don't give off any smell themselves? Like this
