Wet Cat Food - Medicinal Use

Hello,

My hedgehog thistle is on a number of medications right now and one of them I can not for the life of me get her to take orally (metacam). I have been giving her a small amount of wet catfood as she eats it up so quickly and putting the metacam on it, at the vet's suggestion. Her main food is Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover Soul, and she is still eating mainly that. I just wanted to make sure that a bit of "treat/medicine" cat food won't hurt her? And what brand would you suggest? She won't eat pumpkin or any other food other than CSFTCLS and wet cat food...soooo picky.

Hedgie people, can you give your opinion on this. What came to my mind was Duck Soup which is given to ferrets in need. Could you adapt a recipe like this with hedgie ingredients? Here is a link, there are many, many variations.

I use Hills A/D which is available at the vet whenever I have to syringe feed or give meds. I always have a few cans on hand as well as extra syringes just in case. Most hedgehogs love A/D and will readily go for it.
