The smallest of bumps!!! HALP

i've been trying to figure out whether i should take my little buddy to the vet or if this issue is completely benign. he has the smallest of lumps on his neck area underneath a bunch of fur, just underneath his chin. it feels like either a scab or some type of wart. it's barely raised, and it's as small as a pin head, and i've just felt it recently while i was scratching underneath his chin. i was wondering if this sounds like an issue even worth taking up with a vet. he won't let me inspect it or part his hair to look at it so i haven't gotten a good look...but it doesn't seem to pain him. he just gets annoyed with me rooting around in his fur. is this an issue anyone has ever heard of? should i just let it alone? thanks!

for further information: he's about 5 months and he's drinking, eating, defecating normally. his behavior is not altered, exercising fine.
